March’s demo featured the excellent, quirky illustrative artist Judit Matthews.
Judit’s subjects range from maps to abstract landscapes with lots of little creatures, animals and figures. She loves pattern and the vibrancy of colour and uses pen and ink, watercolour, acrylic and oil pastels on woodblock acrylics to build up her pictures. As she doesn’t pay attention to scale or the colour of the real thing, her illustrations are charmingly naïve.
An award-winning artist, Judit regularly exhibits her work. She has also illustrated a book, created murals for children and took part in Channel 4’s Watercolour Challenge in 2001.
